Consolation Ministry

The Consolation Ministry at Christ the Redeemer was established in November, 2007.  It is a compassionate ministry that supports the liturgical and emotional needs of anyone who has suffered a loss. We meet with the family and assist them with the selection of the liturgical readings for the funeral Mass.  In addition, we coordinate notification to the Sacred Music Ministry, Altar Servers and the Custodian for the church where the funeral will be.  At least one member of the ministry attends the funeral Mass.

We send Mass cards and sympathy cards to the family and offer continuing support to them as needed.  Our support group meets on the third Thursday of every month, and is open to anyone who is experiencing a loss or going through the grieving process.  Please see the parish calendar for time, date and location.

The ministry also facilitates the All Soul’s Mass, as well as the Easter and Christmas Memorials.

The Consolation Ministry is very active at Christ the Redeemer Parish.  Our clergy encourage us to support their ministry in various ways.
